Ms. Im has appeared with many of the world's major opera companies and orchestras, working with many of the greatest conductors of our time.   
Recent projects included a critically acclaimed worldwide tour as Susanna in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro (with Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, conductor René Jacobs), gala concerts with the Tonkünstler Orchestra in Austria, appearances with Musikcollegium Winterthur in Haydn's Schöpfung and at the Helsinki Festival in Pergolesi's La Serva padrona, and in Haydn's L'anima del filosofo at Brühl Festival. Among upcoming engagements, she will perform Brahms' German Requiem with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Händel's Silla with Europa Galante at the Enescu Festival, and will tour a new production of Mozart's Don Giovanni with her longtime partners at Freiburger Barockorchester.
One of today's most versatile vocal artists with a repertoire ranging from early music to 20th century repertoire, Sunhae Im has worked with leading conductors such as Herbert Blomstedt, Zubin Mehta, Kent Nagano, Riccardo Chailly, Manfred Honeck, Myung-Whun Chung, Philippe Herreweghe, William Christie, Fabio Biondi, Thomas Hengelbrock, Frans Brüggen, Giovanni Antonini, Iván Fischer, Lothar Zagrosek, Sylvain Cambreling, Ton Koopman, Marek Janowski, and René Jacobs. She regularly appears at renowned festivals and venues such as the Salzburg Festival, Edinburgh International Festival, Rheingau Musik Festival, Mostly Mozart Festival and Haydn International Festival, Vienna Musikverein, Köln Philharmonie, Salle Pleyel, De Doelen Rooterdam, Bozar Brussels, and has worked with the New York Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, DSO Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, and Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. Sunhae Im has appeared at Berlin Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opéra National de Paris, Oper Frankfurt, Staatsoper Hamburg, Staatstheater Stuttgart and many of the world's major opera companies. A particularly fruitful relationship with Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, Akademie für Alte Musik, Les Arts florissants, the Academy of Ancient Music, Collegium Vocale Ghent, and B'Rock Ghent.
Many of Sunhae Im`s numerous recordings received international awards and have won worlwide critical acclaim, including her Fauré Requiem (SONY Classical, won an Echo Klassik award 2012), Mahler`s 4th Symphony (ICMA 2012), Händel`s Agrippina (BBC Music Magazine Award 2012), and several of her Mozart recordings (Don Giovanni, Idomeneo, La clemenza di Tito, with René Jacobs), as well as Haydn`s Creation and Bach`s Mass in B Minor. An accomplished lied singer, her recording of the complete Schulhoff Songs will be released in 2019.
Sunhae Im was born in Korea and studied at Seoul National University and with Roland Hermann at Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. She won First Prize at the Korean Schubert Society Competition and was an award-winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2000. Ms. Im began her career in Germany as a member of the Hanover State Opera. She lives in Berlin.
