5 | Carmen Rhapsodie

5 | Carmen Rhapsodie

An evening of encounters and musical journeys.
The concert opens with the classical freshness of Michael Haydn‘s String Quintet, performed by the Novo Quartet and violist Amihai Grosz, before plunging into the romantic intensity of Carl Nielsen’s Quartet No. 2.
Pianist Orlando Bass then takes us to Spain with the first book of Isaac Albéniz's Iberia, bursting with colour and rhythm.
Next up are Ligeti's Six Bagatelles, reinvented by Nicolas Herrouët for the Ellipsos Quartet, accompanied by flautist Emmanuel Pahud.
The evening finally lights up with two rhapsodies: Bizet's Carmen, revisited by Jun Nagao, and Gershwin's unmissable Rhapsody in Blue, both performed by the Ellipsos Quartet and pianist Frank Braley.
