A programme with the colours of Central Europe and its Romantic and modern sparkles.
The Novo Quartet opens the evening with Schumann‘s luminous Quartet Op. 41 No. 3, before joining pianist Orlando Bass in Shostakovich’s powerful Quintet in G minor.
The originality and freshness ofErwin Schulhoff's Concertino for flute, viola and double bass add an unexpected and lively touch, carried by Emmanuel Pahud, Joaquin Riquelme Garcia and Olivier Thiery.
Finally, Dvořák ‘s melodic generosity shines through in his Piano Quintet No. 2, performed by an ensemble of soloists led by pianist Frank Braley.
